Delaware Greenways and The Food Bank began working together at Historic Penn Farm in 2014. The Food Bank recruits community volunteers to help grow a small plot of vegetables. The produce is offered to those in need at the Food Bank and in their CSA.
In 2014 the Food Bank experimented with a variety of crops. In 2015, under the leadership of Food Bank’s Matt Talley, they focused on a single crop and harvested more than 3,000 pounds of green beans for their CSA and weekly distributions
