The New Website is a Resource for Byway Discoveries

Delaware Greenways (DGI) announces the launch of the Delaware Bayshore Byway website, Delaware Bayshore Byway.  By introduction of the website, DGI continues its mission of providing opportunities to live healthier lives by discovering and enjoying the outdoors.

For the first time, a website is dedicated to this widely recognized area of global ecological and historic significance. It introduces the nineteen discovery zones, small towns, and natural areas with the capacity to welcome visitors. It introduces attractions and itineraries by interest. From birding, history, beaches and preserves to kayaking, hunting, fishing, and camping. It’s all there, ready for your visit.

Vote For Delaware Trails

The Georgetown-Lewes and Junction Breakwater Trails have been nominated for the 2021 Rail-Trail Hall of Fame!

In 2007, the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy began recognizing exemplary rail-trails around the country through its Rail-Trail Hall of Fame. They select inductees on merits such as scenic value, high use, trail and trailside amenities, historical significance, excellence in management and maintenance of facility, community connections and geographic distribution.

This year, they’ve nominated 3 trails across the United States, and the Georgetown-Lewes and Junction Breakwater Trails (as a set) received one of those nominations!!!

We need your vote to get them inducted!

Hall of fame rail-trails receive a variety of honors, including special signage to place along their trails, a Trail of the Month feature and a highlight in Rails to Trails magazine. The spotlight will create interest in the trails, and in turn benefit our state and local economies.

Show your love for these trails by voting as often as you can Friday, July 30th through Friday, August 6th. Tell your friends too! Let’s get these awesome trails (and Delaware) the recognition they deserve!

Vote for the Georgetown-Lewes and Junction Breakwater Trails!

New Website Will Be A Resource for Byway Discoveries

The Delaware Bayshore Byway, designated a National Scenic Byway by the United States Department of Transportation in February 2021, will soon have its own website!!!

The nomination process for the designation was a collective effort undertaken by Delaware Greenways and a dedicated group of people, and the website is being developed the same way.
