The Delaware Bayshore Byway stretches a little more than 100 miles, from New Castle County south to Milton and Broadkill Beach. Within that stretch are 19 discovery zones where people can explore history and nature.
“The goal is for folks to get out and enjoy these amazing places we have here in our state,” said Mary Roth, executive director of Delaware Greenways.
A public workshop was held Oct. 20. A variety of stakeholders presented recommendations that may be included in the final draft of the byway’s master plan.
The plan includes 24 distinct walking and bicycling itineraries within the byway. In Milton, the byway group hopes to piggyback off work already done by the town’s historical society.
