Where is this Trail?

NEWS: In late June 2023, New Castle County was awarded one of the US Dept. of Transportation’s  Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Program grants to fund the trail!

The creation of the Newport River Trail  will grow Delaware’s trail network for both recreation and transportation use. The connections will provide access to parks, open space, river viewsheds and wildlife areas. In addition, the trail will provide safe, protected transportation access to three major cities in New Castle County.

The trail connection will also contribute to the mission of the Alliance for Watershed Education “…to collectively increase and enhance constituent appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship of the Delaware River watershed.” Read more.
