Great news for the East Coast Greenway’s expansion in Delaware, and making trail commuting safer!
A series of three trail segments reroute the East Coast Greenway in Claymont to follow off-road walking and biking options to the Claymont Transit Center, which offers SEPTA Regional Rail train service and DART bus service. Travelers of the Greenway will no longer have to navigate the interchange of US-13 and the on- and off-ramps to I-495.
Heading southbound, the first of the three trails is a sidepath alongside US-13 Philadelphia Pike from near Naamans Road to Transit Center Drive, where the Greenway follows a second sidepath to the train station and then off-road as a trail linking to the old Claymont Train Station parking lot. From there trail users follow the third segment, which is the pedestrian bridge that links the old Claymont Train Station over I-495 over to Governor Printz Boulevard. Source: ECG
