DelDOT is hosting an Open House on Wednesday, May 21st in Lewes, so that the study team can provide a review of the 2024 Five Points Transportation Study and share the schedule for the remainder of the calendar year. A brief presentation on the annual report of the study will be given at 4:30 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m.
SR 1 between the Five Points area and Rehoboth Beach has experienced rapid growth in recent years. With that growth has come additional demand for walking and bicycling, as well as safety concerns with accommodating walking and bicycling on a wide, congested highway. This study will identify locations for continuous bikeway routes and periodic crossings that can be used by the majority of the population on both sides of SR 1 between Five Points and Rehoboth Beach and prioritize segments of the bikeway routes for design and construction.
