Join Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO) for a discussion on the draft concepts for improved transportation along the Philadelphia Pike Corridor.

This event provides an opportunity for community members to share their opinions and contribute to the development of safer and more efficient transportation options.

  • 6-6:30 pm:  Sign-in and displays
  • 6:30-7:30 pm: Presentation and Q&A
  • 7:30-8 pm:  Comments and displays


Ideas have been developed for the Philadelphia Pike Corridor based on community input, traffic analysis, and best practices for safe transportation. We will share information at the meeting but NO FINAL RECOMMENDATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE.

Draft Concepts

  1. Complete Streets Improvements – Scenario 1 – Enhances existing lanes while improving crosswalks, bus stops, and bike lanes to promote a pedestrian-friendly environment.
  2. Extend Road Diet – Scenario 2 – Proposes extending and enhancing the road diet to improve safety for all users.
  3. Governor Printz Roundabout – Scenario 3  – Designed to integrate with either of the first two concepts, the roundabout aims to improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection.
