Home » Commons Blvd Trail’s Creekwood Rd Segment Opens
The first segment of the Commons Blvd Trail officially opens on Monday, October 2nd! New Castle County is holding the ribbon cutting at Creekwood Road, one end of the segment.
Come tag-along with us as we ride a close to 8 mile route from Wilmington on the JAM Trail (and off) to the ribbon cutting at Creekwood Road in New Castle!
Having helped fund the feasibility study, through a William Penn Foundation grant, we’re especially excited to see the progress on this impactful future trail connection! The trail is one of the focus projects of the Future Trails of Northern Delaware Coalition and with each new segment will increase access to schools, housing, employment and shopping.
If you’re cycling with us to the ceremony, we’ll be leaving from the DuPont Environmental Education Center (1400 Delmarva Lane, Wilmington) at 8:15am sharp. There’s also an option to ride with Bike Delaware, who will be leading a group at the same time and a similar distance, from the New Castle Court House Museum (211 Delaware St., New Castle). No sign-ups required, just show up!
Come out and celebrate this new segment of trail with us on 10/2!
Be sure to check it out next time you’re on the Jack Markell Trail!
