Georgetown-Lewes Trail Final Phase

Final Phase Start in February 2025

Trails take time to build. Especially ones 17 miles in length…

The ceremonial ground breaking of the final phase of the Georgetown-Lewes Trail took place December 18th. There are six miles of the trail, from Airport Road in Georgetown to Fisher Road in Milton, remaining to be completed. By spring 2026 you’ll be able to travel 17 miles, start to finish on the trail! This will make it the longest continuous trail in the State. A distinction that the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail in New Castle County has held since the early 1990’s.

Watch DelDOT’s fascinating video showing the trail as it’s planned to be completed…we think you’ll be as excited as we are to see it done!  Click HERE for video.
