Delaware Awarded $44 Million RAISE Grant for Trail Development
Delaware is receiving RAISE grants to support trail improvements that are pivotal for outdoor connections in New Castle and Sussex Counties!
Late last summer, August 18th until early fall, October 3rd, we conducted a user survey of the Georgetown-Lewes Trail. Our purpose was to gather information to understand when, who, how and why people use this trail in Sussex County. We also asked trail users their favorite aspects of the trail, and how their trail experience could be improved. 804 surveys were collected! Our gratitude to each person who took the time to provide us with their responses, and to our volunteers who helped collect them!
Our goal, through this data collection, was to identify specific barriers that may keep this popular trail from providing an enjoyable, safe experience for all ages and abilities.
The survey data has been compiled, and we are excited to share that information with you! Working collaboratively with others, we look forward to implementing programs to reduce barriers uncovered.
