The New Castle County Department of Land Use invites the public to attend a Hybrid Public Information Session on Wednesday, January 18th, to seek public input and discuss potential first steps regarding NCC2050 Environmental Justice recommendations.
“This element of the Comprehensive Plan identifies communities facing inadequate access to services, transportation, infrastructure, housing, health, and other resources, allowing us to set policies that improve their physical health, well-being, and overall quality of life. Strategic investments in these communities serve as preventative measures decreasing rates of diabetes, asthma, heart disease and mental health concerns, while providing the necessary mobility and accessibility to allow all residents to thrive.” – NCC2050 Comprehensive Plan (page 332)
You are welcome to attend this event in-person or virtually. The event will be held at the Route 9 Library & Innovation Center, New Castle, DE. For those attending in-person, the presentation will be followed by small group discussions where the public may engage with, ask questions, and share comments with Land Use staff. Anyone wishing to comment on the material presented may do so in-person (at the workshop) or via email at LandUse@Newcastlede.gov.
