Connect with Delaware Greenways

The final phase of the Georgetown-Lewes Trail will begin this February! Yesterday the ceremonial ground breaking took place. There are six miles of the trail, from Airport Road in Georgetown to Fisher Road in Milton, remaining to be completed. By spring 2026 you'll be able to travel 17 miles, start to finish on the trail! Bikes and helmets, what many of us are wishing for this holiday season! Thanks to grant funding from the William Penn Foundation, we were able to donate helmets to the Kingswood Community Center. Hoping to protect young minds! Urban Bike Project of Wilmington took care of the bikes! The Center "has empowered the community of Riverside and Northeast Wilmington since 1946 with its Early Learning Academy, Jimmy Jenkins Senior Center, and wide array of social services, programs and events." ... Art and a Walk! Along the mile-long Mispillion River Walk in Milford are 18 four-foot replicas of one special yacht, the Augusta, that was built at a Milford shipyard in 1927. The town, where Kent and Sussex counties meet in the heart of, was a shipbuilding hub back then. Today it’s centered around its history, the arts, nature, and the river that winds through it.
