The Brandywine Valley National Scenic Byway (BVNSB) extends from Rodney Square in Wilmington on Routes 52 and 100 to the Delaware – Pennsylvania State Line, where Route 52 continues as the BVNSB-PA. The PA segment of the roadway received the Federal Highway Administration’s National Scenic Byway designation in early 2021.

The Delaware Museum of Nature and Science (formerly the Delaware Museum of Natural History) was founded in 1957 and is the oldest natural history museum in Delaware.

Located on 235 acres along the banks of the Brandywine, Hagley is the site of the gunpowder works founded by E.I. du Pont in 1802. This example of early American industry features indoor and outdoor exhibitions, including restored mills, a workers community, and the ancestral home and garden of the du Pont family.

The Brandywine Valley Unit of the First State National Historic Park is under a mile from the byway!
The park encompasses 1300 acres of agricultural land, forests, pastures and streams, and has 23 miles of recreational trails.

This single-track dirt trail follows the eastern side of the Brandywine Creek. Great waterfowl, native wildflower and an occasional beaver sightings.
The Northern Delaware Greenway Trail links Bellevue State Park and Brandywine Park and the City of Wilmington through a series of trails that travel some of the most beautiful landscapes in Delaware.
