Delaware Awarded $44 Million RAISE Grant for Trail Development
Delaware is receiving RAISE grants to support trail improvements that are pivotal for outdoor connections in New Castle and Sussex Counties!
DATE: Monday, February 10, 2025
TIME: 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm
LOCATION: Talleyville Fire Co. – Station 25, 3919 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 (Google Maps)
Through our seat on the Concord Pike Monitoring Committee, Delaware Greenways has been providing our input on improvements to the Concord Pike Corridor, including the Rocky Run Underpass. We hope you’ll come out to provide your feedback on the study initiated Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO) and Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT).
It’s purpose, to explore the feasibility of creating a pedestrian/bicycle pathway under Concord Pike/US 202 at Rocky Run near Widener University. The study will consider the use of the existing culvert for a pathway connection under Concord Pike at this location and expanding the current trail network to better connect recreational areas, retail, restaurants, and neighborhoods. The study is also evaluating other options to the culvert in the vicinity, including an overpass and an at-grade crossing at existing traffic signals.
Attend the workshop to learn more about the feasibility study, review preliminary technical analyses, and provide your input and feedback. The in-person workshop will have a brief presentation at 4:30 p.m. that will be
repeated at 5:30 p.m., but you can attend anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
