“With community participation, the Department of Land Use, WILMAPCO, and the Delaware Department of Transportation are in the process of establishing a long-term vision for land use and infrastructure in Southern New Castle County. The goal is to guide growth while at the same time taking proactive steps to preserve natural resources and agricultural land. Since the November 2019 Southern New Castle County Master Plan rough draft was published, 13 individuals submitted comments, which ranged from broad policy-oriented ideas to specific recommendations and other line item edits. An additional meeting was held with the Town of Townsend in January 2020 to discuss concerns, make clarifications, and consider further municipal coordination recommendations, which are being factored into plan refinements.” – New Castle County Dept. of Land Use
The rough draft is dense with important information worth knowing. Pages 152 – 156 speak directly to planned road improvement projects and NCC’s Bike Plan.
